BEATS is a union of writers and poets writing from a place of urgency, fueling our work with activist poetics in public spaces. Originated at Naropa University’s Jack Kerouac School, BEATS honors the experimental and subversive lineage of outriders writing on the edge of prophecy, believing thoroughly in writers as the unacknowledged legislators of the world. BEATS is not an institution but an intervention, collaboratively sculpting community as the literary monument to our time.
